My Very First Blogging Award!
When I started Floral Bookshelves I had zero idea where it would lead me. I was winging it. While I would love to say I had a game plan, I really just wanted to experiment with blogging. Soon, I was head over heels, not just with the freedom that comes with running a blog, but with the blogging community. I have met the most inspirational, motivating, kind friends within this online community that really just works to make the world a better, well-informed place. That's why I'm so excited to announce that I have been nominated for a Liebster Award.
The Liebster Award is an award for bloggers, from bloggers. It's an aspect of the blogging world that is designed to build community amongst bloggers, showing support for the mission that each blogger is on. I was nominated by the amazing Sophia over at Sophiaaaxo, her lifestyle blog that shines light on beauty, baking, and travel topics. This girl has it all going on -- seriously, can she give me a makeover or ship me a cake? That would be too cool. Check her out, she's super rad.
- Acknowledge the blogger who nominated you
- Answer 11 questions from the blogger who nominated you
- Nominate 11 blogs
- Provide 11 questions for your nominations to answer
The Liebster gives me a chance to answer some questions (carefully chosen by lovely Sophia) to help you get to know me, and nominate some bloggers that I think are out of this world! Thanks for all of your support for Floral Bookshelves so far -- enjoy my little Q&A and make sure you show some love for my nominees!
Q: What is one thing in this whole entire world that you have always wanted?
A: I've always wanted to live in Europe. Even three months (think summer in Prague) would be amazing! While visiting a place is super, living somewhere really lets you experience the culture. With that being said, if anyone in the Eastern Hemisphere needs a really cool writer to follow them around...
Q: What is the cutest thing anyone has ever done for you?
A: When my little sister was nine years old, she made me a ceramic frog. She painted it my favorite color, and put a ceramic monster cookie on its tongue because monster cookies were my favorite!
Q: How long have you been blogging?
A: Floral Bookshelves has been alive for about eight months now. It had a total renovation in May, so I suppose the new and improved version is only three months old.
Q: If you could change the blogging community in any way, how would you change it and why?
A: I LOVE the blogging community. The friends I have made through this group are outstanding individuals who are so supportive of one another. If I were to change anything, I would change how sometimes bloggers are too competitive with one another. I mean, aren't we all here to make a positive change? Luckily most of the bloggers I've interacted with are amazingly encouraging, so this hasn't been a large problem, in my experience!
Q: Do you have a talent?
A: Yes! I am really good at making guacamole.
Q: If you had to rant about something right now, what would it be?
A: I hate it when people walk slowly in grocery stores. If I am doing some pre-dinner shopping, chances are that I am starving and impatient. Grocery shop with a list and walk like you're on a mission. MOVE!
Q: Favorite go-to movie?
A: Hitch, no doubt about it.
Q: What question do you hate to answer?
A: I don't really hate answering questions. I actually love it. But I don't like it when people assume my answer within their question. Like, "So, when are you thinking about grad school?" assumes that I am thinking about grad school. (Spoiler, I'm not!).
Q: How do you unwind from a stressful day?
A: Ice cream. Or the gym. I can honestly go either way.
Q: Favorite number?
A: Eleven! There are eleven letters in my full name, and my class number in elementary school was eleven.
Q: What is your good deed for the day?
A: Well, someone cut me off to steal my parking spot today and I took a deep breath and let it go. Does that count?
